At the heart of every community is a spirit of service, and at the Kansas City International Academy (KCIA), that spirit thrives thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers. For over a year, a group of three volunteers has committed their time and energy to maintaining the Care Closet, a vital resource for KCIA students and their families.

The Care Closet is a well-stocked, organized space that provides essential items like clothing, food, and hygiene products to those in need. It’s a place where families can find the support they need to get through tough times, and it wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of this volunteer group.

In addition to keeping the closet stocked with donations, the volunteers took on a hands-on project to optimize the space. They designed and built custom shelving that maximizes storage, ensuring that the closet can accommodate a variety of items while remaining accessible and organized. Their hard work has transformed the space into a more efficient and welcoming environment for those who rely on it.

The impact of the Care Closet goes beyond just providing material goods; it’s a symbol of care, community, and shared responsibility. Thanks to the consistent effort of these volunteers, KCIA students and families know they can rely on the Care Closet during difficult times, helping them feel supported as they focus on education and their futures.
