This holiday season, the NorthPoint Foundation extended its support to Roberts Academy in East Price Hill, Cincinnati, one of the most underserved neighborhoods in the area. Through a connection made by NorthPoint Development team member, Laura F., we learned about the urgent need for winter essentials for the preschoolers at the academy.
Roberts Academy serves approximately 800 students from diverse backgrounds, including families from Guatemala, Mexico, Venezuela, and Somalia. The preschool program alone includes two classes with 19 children each—22 girls and 16 boys—most of whom wear sizes 5T-6T. Many of these children come to school in worn and inadequate clothing, highlighting the immediate need for clean and warm essentials.
With the help of the Foundation, we donated coats, hats, mittens, and socks for all 40 preschoolers. These items were carefully packed and delivered to Roberts Academy just in time for the colder months. The heartfelt cards signed by the children, now displayed in our kitchen, are a reminder of the joy and gratitude shared by the families who received these much-needed items.
Special thanks to Craig for assisting with delivery and to Brittany and Kristin for organizing this effort. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and knowing these coats went to the right place truly put some pep into our Monday! This initiative was a testament to the power of community and the importance of stepping up to meet critical needs.
We are honored to support such a diverse and resilient school and look forward to future opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young students.
